- A gray cat slinks past a wooden house. There’s something a little intimidating attempting to describe.

Doug Miller is a commercial, travel, wildlife, and macro photographer, instructor, and blogger. He is based in Austin, TX.
Doug’s passion for photography also includes his love of teaching as he conducts frequent workshops and seminars on photography and digital post processing.
I have been photographing seriously since I can remember. My brother purchased my first “serious” camera for me when he was on leave in Japan while in the USMC–a Nikon F2. In the 70’s and 80’s I had a darkroom and even processed my own slide film and printed on Cibachrome. Enter digital cameras and Photoshop and Lightroom. Times have sure changed and I’m loving it. Shooting digitally with my Nikon D3s and D750 and processing with Photshop CC and Lightroom CC is a joy. I’m loving photography more than ever!
Doug is a participating member of Coastal Bend Wildlife Photography Contest having participated in contests in 2007, 2009, and 2011 being recognized with awards each year. His work is featured in Wildlife in Focus IV, Wildlife in Focus V, and Wildlife in Focus VI.
