I recently bought into the Nikon1 and plan to use it as my primary travel camera. There are some features of this camera that I’m very excited about. It shoots full HD movies and allows shooting still while shooting the movie. It has a eye level viewfinder that I prefer to holding the camera away from my body to use the rear screen as viewfinder. And maybe the best feature is how quickly it focuses–it is lightning fast. The camera so far doesn’t have a great selection of lenses, but I’m pretty happy with what it has. The combination of the 10-30mm and the 20-110mm gives a full frame equivalent of approximately 28 to 300. I’ve read some concern abut the small CX sensor, but to date I’ve been very happy with the image quality. The biggest downside might be that it displays the last image in the viewfinder whether you want it or not which can tend to slow down rapid fire shooting. I’m hopint gthere might be a firmware update for that problem.
