I had another great time this past week at the Barnhart Q5 Ranch. Among the highlights were a great painted bunting that spent at least 30 minutes showing off for me. I probably took 300 photos of him–I’m posting a few of my favorites here. I also saw my first warblers. Unfortunately only one got in the open enough to get a decent photo–a black-throated green warbler. Also got a few more flowers and insects including a great shot of a rain lily which have popped up after the late-April showers and a very weird mushroom. Also got a great shot of a group of milkweed bugs and a grasshopper. An another Texas horned lizard which are very plentiful on this ranch!
- A gray cat slinks past a wooden house. There’s something a little intimidating attempting to describe.
