The thing about shooting for a contest with lots of categories is that early on it’s a blank slate–almost anything you see fits a category you haven’t yet captured. As the deadline nears, shooting gets much more selective to start filling in categories that are sparse or empty. This was one of those shoots. Mainly looking for mammals (struck out) this time I did manage to get a few new things. Most notably a couple of caterpillars. I’m finished shooting now and working hard to edit my images to get down to final submissions before the deadline on June 24. This is always a hard part as each category can only have 3 images with 100 total across the 60 categories. I have a few categories with at least 12 to 15 really good shots–it’s going to be hard. Here are some of my images from my final shoot.
